Today

Today, I feel very well, but I wouldn’t dare say that I’m perfectly healthy, When sharp fluctuations of atmospheric pressure occur, especially when the sky is tightened with dense clouds, I have an unpleasant headache.

I haven’t tried to play beach volleyball: I suppose that sharp slopes and tracking the fast moving ball may make me feel dizzy.

And there is another peculiarity: in any position my head must not be lower than my heart, otherwise I feel slight discomfort, but, nevertheless, I am able to attend yoga lessons. At the lessons all movements are performed smoothly and I can easily bear exercises with inclination of the head, although with a little discomfort. I am also good at keeping balance during energetic exercises on inflatable floor hemispheres.

I take hot baths, I regularly warm up my legs, and I also like going to the steam bath, albeit not at a hundred degrees temperature, but ninety degrees, yet, on the top shelf as before.

I have my own scale of assessment of my general state of health. At first glance, it may seem primitive and strange to some people, and to a specialist in neurology. But I really want to show it to anyone who is interested.

Since this table is to assess exactly my state of health, I will tell about it in more detail.

The lowest grade — ‘one’- comes from those most unpleasant symptoms that I suffered.

‘Three’ is the grade with which I assess my state today. Now I can watch science fiction movies calmly, but even music from movies more creepy for me makes me fall into a stupor and refuse further viewing.

When going to the state I assessed as ‘four’, I should be able to easily play beach volleyball, without experiencing any inconveniences and restrictions.

I will assess my health with ‘five’ when feeling only headache: it is possible that it just depends on the atmospheric pressure.

I should be able to view movies with intense content calmly, perceiving what happens on the screen as fiction. This way I can evaluate myself the stability of my mental state.

I want to believe that many people diagnosed with MS after reading this book, will wish to create a similar table, on the basis of their state of health.

Today it is exactly one year since my beloved man has given me injections of vitamin B12, every morning without breaks. And despite the long-term use I have no side-effects.

Quite recently, I visited the medical center and had a blood test for biochemical and clinical tests, and blood coagulation. I had my electrocardiogram taken. We were absolutely stunned by the results: I have never had such excellent rates before.

Deficiency of vitamin B12 in my body is obvious and perhaps the cause is in the wrong nutrition, as, until recently, I replaced without hesitation healthy and balanced food for lunch with different sweets.

We decided that I will not take any additional medicines except vitamin B12.

I take only a hepatoprotective medicine for maintaining the health of the liver. We also exclude complexes of vitamins so that they would not prevent the absorption of vitamin B12 and spoil the whole picture of my recovery. I’ll be checking myself with interest and attention: how I become more reserved in some situations than other people. In the future, I’m not going to stop this experiment and I will continue to write down regularly all events. I passionately long to become as balanced and calm as possible in any situation. I want to lead a fully saturated life in a peaceful controlled state without need for additional medicines, as well as any strong sedative drugs. It is the full-fledged life that is important for me.

Of course, one can Live with the diagnosis of MS, and many people with such a diagnosis make tremendous efforts for full existence, but it is much better to live a bright life full of events. They all want to understand what exactly has started the slow process affecting their central nervous system.

Writing of this book is an exciting experience itself, but I feel well and I believe that it can be useful to many people.

It may be very difficult or impossible to detect the real need of the body in vitamin B12, as well as its required amount, by any of the currently known methods. And only the body itself is able to tell whether there is a need in such a wonderful vitamin B12.
